DESCRIPTION:Central Fire District of Santa Cruz County\n\n1st Annual Open House - Free and open to visitors of all ages! \n\n \n\nIt is a very special event this year\, as it is our FIRST Open House since the consolidation of Aptos/La Selva and Central Fire Protection Districts\, as well as the 100th anniversary of Fire Prevention Week (which runs from October 9-15 this year). The theme for Fire Prevention Week this year is "Fire Won't Wait Plan Your Escape!" \n\n \n\nWe have a number of participating agencies this year\, all with activities\, demonstrations and displays to promote public safety and disaster preparedness. Red Cross\, Salvation Army\, American Medical Response\, State Parks/Lifeguards\, Santa Cruz County Sheriff and SPCA\, as well as the CERT (Community Emergency Response Teams) of Santa Cruz County will be there.\n\n \n\nWe will also have a special raffle at the event with a number of fantastic prizes from local businesses\, including Play it Again Sports and Wonderland Toys. 100% of the proceeds for this raffle will go to the Santa Cruz County Fallen Officer Foundation\, which directly supports S.C.
